Actress. Born on April 16, 1954, in the Bronx, New York, educated at Hunter College. Sensual, versatile lead of the American stage, TV and films, often in vulnerable roles. Following a stint in daytime soaps, she debuted as the only female lead in Barry Levinson's first film "Diner" and has since appeared in an eclectic range of roles, memorably the straightbacked attorney in "The Big Easy". Separated from husband actor Gabriel Byrne, whom she had married in 1988 and co-starring with him in "Siesta".
